Dear Parents,
This has been a very busy and productive week! We have blocked the majority of the show and are getting ready to begin the fun work of fine tuning. Your children have been absolutely AMAZING! Focused, professional, warm, creative, and generally a delight to work with! I would like to especially applaud the older students who have made such a point to mentor and support the younger ones. It is a beautiful thing to see students treat each other with such love, respect, and fun. This wonderful attitude is apparent in the stage work as well, and really makes the show into a warm celebration instead of merely a performance. Thank you!
The parade was a fun day! We have received a great many compliments from onlookers about the enthusiasm of the children who participated! Thanks to all those who marched in the parade, and thanks to all those who provided moral support to the marchers!
Many of the children have been helping out with the technical aspects of the production as well as the performance aspects. We are delighted at this interest and hope to continue to accommodate them. Any child who is interested in tech should come to summer theater in clothing that they don't mind getting dirty, since there will be lots of painting!
Just a reminder: The Kingswood stage is very old and splintery, so it is important that all students come to Summer Theater wearing closed-toe shoes.
