Ms. Hamilton’s Weekly message to parents
7/13/06

Dear Parents,

This week has been a busy one! We have continued to work the show, polishing the scenes that we blocked last week. This is hard, patient work, and your children continue to demonstrate the kind of maturity and professionalism that I have learned to expect from them.

The scenery and costumes have come very far this week. Students have aided in the painting and the craft work, and have contributed many artistic ideas to the stagecraft! Many munchkins are decorating their own hats, and the munchkin houses each are decorated differently! Thank you for sending them in clothing that may get dirty!

Several of our students were interviewed on the local radio station to help promote the show! Elena Dugan, McKenzie Beaver, and Hannah Seibol all joined Assistant Director/Musical Director Ryan Sturgis in the recording studio of WASR and recorded a wonderful interview! This will be aired next week!

I'd like to send out a request to all families to try to rally as many supportive audience members as possible. The children are working really hard this year-it's a surprisingly difficult show with lots of scenic and acting challenges. All participants continue to blow me away with their talent, enthusiasm, and diligence, and I think they really ought to be rewarded by a big old audience every show! And I believe that we will have a GREAT show. We've got 2 weeks to go and the students are already hilarious, charming, and getting more polished every day!

Have a great weekend,
Heather Elise Hamilton

A student quote that was too long to go on a poster but too funny to go unpublished (I'm getting a ton of hilarious quotes and anecdotes and will try to include one per parent letter):
"Sure to be a swell production acted by talented adolescents full of vim, vigor, and a lust for life unmatched by any other theatre company"
-Elena Dugan
