Ms. Hamilton’s Weekly message to parents
7/20/06

Dear Parents,

The hard work is done and WOW did it pay off! The Kids look GREAT! They demonstrated such focus, patience, diligence, creativity, and cooperation! They deserve to be VERY proud of the work they have accomplished here!

We are entering 'tech week', which is the week in which all technical aspects of the production are ironed out. Monday is 'load in', during which the tech crew, led by the incredible Harrison Gill and Kristi Neiman, will load all the scenery into the stage and program all the lights. Tuesday will be a tech/dress, during which we will see how some of the costumes look under the lights. Wednesday and Thursday will be more tech/dress rehearsals (not all kids will need to be in costume every day), and Thursday night will be OUR FIRST SHOW!

Some things to remember:

Kids need to be dropped off in ALTON starting next Tuesday. Please don't drop them off at Kingswood because no one will be there!!!

Kids will need to bring make up with them. This need not be anything too elaborate. Basic street make up will do. Think earth tones for the boys and rose tones for the girls. We will help them with make up application if required.

There is no FLASH photography permitted during performances ( it is distracting and therefore dangerous to the performers and irritating to the other audience members).

The house will typically open 15 minutes before each performance. We ask for your flexibility in this area. Sometimes our tech staff needs to make last minute adjustments to the notoriously temperamental stage lighting before the show, and nobody without a hard hat is allowed in any area where high ladders are in use (this is state law).

Please be courteous audience members and turn off cell phones and avoid conversation during the performance!

Please feel free to ask any of the Summer Theater Staff if you have additional questions! It's going to be a FABULOUS show! Congratulations to all the students!!!

Best,
Heather Elise Hamilton
