We would like to specially thank those who helped put the new paint on the Art Center walls. Also deserving gratitude is Board President Bobbie Stave. She, with input from Wes and myself, has been very busy updating and giving our website the reconstruction needed so that it is now the go-to site to find out whatever you may want to know about the Art's Center.

We apologize for the lateness of this issue. With the Holidays and then tax preparation, we were unable to start gathering information until late January.

Expressions Dance Academy

The Creative Art's Center would like to welcome Benjamin Livie. He was born December 22, 2006 at 2:25 AM. Chrissy and Mark are proud parents and are enjoying the task of teaching young Ben about life. Their first lesson: it is good to sleep at night and be awake during the day. Congratulations to you both!
The dance classes have begun again with a series of guest instructors. What an incredible opportunity for our students growth as they learn from these talented artists. The variety of teaching styles and choreography have given the students a wealth of information adding vastly to their educational experience. We would like to thank them for their valuable time and the rewarding classes they have been teaching.
Jill Letendre-Kenney, from New York, NY; Amy Lyn Thurber, from Boston, Ma; Michelle Giguere, UNH, now from Brookfield; and our own Jill McDonald.

Summer Theatre

We are delighted to announce that our 2007 Summer Show will be The Wizard of Oz!! This play is a favorite among many generations, and has been produced all over the country for many happy decades! The big news this summer, however, is that we have arranged for our performances to be held in an AIR CONDITIONED space! Rehearsals will be held at Kingswood, but performances will be at the brand new stage at Alton, so watching the show should be even better than ever!

We are also glad to announce that Heather Hamilton has found she is able to come south to be with us again this summer.

Heather writes:
"This fall has been full of projects for me and Benjamin! I'm teaching at PSU, directing the drama program at Lin-wood, and am just wrapping up the fifth production I've worked on since seeing you last! Also, Benny and I got married (!) in September, so the last 4 months have been a real whirlwind of fun and happy things! One of the VERY fun things of the last four months has been picking the summer show for the WACAC. Many of you wonderful students had told us that you wanted to do Wizard of Oz, and so we are delighted to be able to fulfill that wish! You all have excellent taste- this is a FANTASTIC show!

...We all hope that you can join us this summer for our production of The Wizard of Oz! I encourage those of you who are interested to consider early registration, as this helps us prepare more efficiently for our summer!"

We would like to take a moment to congratulate Heather on her nomination for Best Actress for 'Twelfth Night' by the NH Theatre Awards. Their website is here: http://www.nhtheatreawards.com/index.php .

How to help us

"The most valuable asset you have is your time." If you would like to volunteer with the Arts Center, please let us know. Also an important gift is the gift of your presence. Attend our events when they occur. For a performer, there is nothing as gratifying as seeing a full, responsive house.

If you, like many of us, are short on time, there are other ways to help out. Your monetary donation to the General Fund, the Scholarship Fund, or the Building fund would be greatly appreciated. If you want a little more control of how your money is spent, you can donate items from our wish list.

The wish list is simple, we could call it Paper and Office Products. It is the small things that are used on a daily basis that eat into our small working capital. Having these items donated, allows us to devote our income to improving our offerings.

Copy paper, Copy paper, Copy paper

Folders, Pens, Pencils, Envelopes

Paint brushes, Construction paper, Poster paper

Paper towels, Toilet paper, Garbage bags, Paper cups

All donations, which are tax deductible, can be arranged by calling the Arts Center at (603)569-7979
